We are deeply passionate about supporting projects and charities that are working at grassroots levels within communities. The children they help are our future on this continent, and many of them have suffered neglect, abuse and are at risk because of many factors including household violence, gangsterism and crime.
The following charities are a few we know well and available for guests to visit during their time in Cape Town.
Lighthouse Mission, Grabouw, Western Cape: – lighthousemissionmuirs.wordpress.com
Village of Hope, Grabouw, Western Cape AND the Thembalitsha group of projects: www.thembalitsha.org.za
Living Hope, Kommetjie, Western Cape: www.livinghope.co.za
Metro Kids, Gugulethu and Pinelands, Western Cape: www.metrokidsafrica.co.za
All of these projects form part of a greater network of over 95 charities that we relate to in the country.
Our responsibility is to arrange pre and post tours, transport and logistics, but once you are in the capable hands of the charity, the daily care of volunteers is taken over by the charity itself. We also like to give our normal tourists the opportunity to see the good being done in the charities but the processes are simply to give exposure.
Special thanks to Tim Walker of Village of Hope for the above photo.
